A PRIMARY school has been praised for outstanding improvements in its performance.

An official report by education inspectors into 117-pupil Earnhill Primary School in Greenock, Inverclyde, gave the school one "excellent" score for improvements in performance and four "very good" scores for learners' experience, meeting learning needs, the curriculum and improvements through self evaluation.

Inspectors said: "Almost all children listen very well to their teachers and show high levels of respect for each other."

Headteacher Janet Leicester said she was delighted by the report.
